Changing the Document Type for a Content Data Record

The document type for a content data record that is managed with ScanSnap Home can be changed to a different document type.

HINT
  • When a scanned image is saved in a password-protected PDF format, text cannot be recognized when the document type is changed. Therefore, content information is displayed with no value.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    For details, refer to To Display the Main Window.

  2. In the content data record list view, select a content data record to change the document type.
  3. Select [Change document type] in the menu that appears when you right-click the content data record.
    HINT
    • When the view mode for the content data record list view is the summary list, you can change the document type from the document type icon of the content data records. Put the mouse cursor over the document type icon, and click ▼ to display the document type list.

  4. Change the document type to the same type as the scanned document.

The document type for the content data record is changed.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon ScanSnap Home Icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

  2. In the content data record list view, select a content data record to change the document type.
  3. Click the content data record while pressing the [control] key on the keyboard, and select [Change document type] from the menu that appears.
    HINT
    • When the view mode for the content data record list view is the summary list, you can change the document type from the document type icon of the content data records. Put the mouse cursor over the document type icon, and click ▼ to display the document type list.

  4. Change the document type to the same type as the scanned document.
    HINT
    • The title for a content data record are not set automatically when you change the document type. Change the title for a content data record according to the document type.

The document type for the content data record is changed.
