Document Quality

  2. The use of following documents is not recommended.

    • Documents of non-uniform thickness (e.g. envelopes)
    • Wrinkled or curled documents (See following figure)
    • Scanning Scanning
    • Folded or torn documents
    • Tracing paper
    • Coated paper
    • Carbon paper
    • Carbonless paper
    • Photosensitive paper
    • Perforated or punched documents
    • Documents that are not square or rectangular
    • Very thin documents

    Do not use the following stapled documents:

    • Paper-clipped or stapled documents
    • Documents on which the ink is still wet
    • Documents smaller than A8 (Portrait) in size
    • Documents wider than A3 or 11 in. x 17 in. size
    • Documents other than paper such as fabric, metal foil or transparencies

  2. Supported document size is as follows.

    • Maximum: width 297 mm (11.7 in.) / length 432 mm (17 in.)
    • Minimum: width 53 mm (2.1 in.) / length 74 mm (2.9 in.)

  2. Following paper types are recommended for scanning:

    • Wood free paper
    • Wood containing paper
  1. Document thickness
  2. Paper thickness is expressed by "Paper weight". The following shows the paperweight that can be used on this scanner:

    • 52 g/m2 to 127 g/m2 (13.9lb to 34lb)
    • For A8-size, only 127 g/m2 (34lb) is allowed to scan.
