Installation Procedures

Note:
If you perform the update online, the following procedure will not be necessary. Follow the instructions on the online update screen.

How to update

1. Be sure you log into Mac OS X / OS X as a user with administrator privileges.
2. Download "MaciX500ScanSnapManualsV20L40WW.dmg" onto your hard disk.
   Make sure you have enough free disk space (at least more than twice the download file size) for installing the programs.
3. Quit any applications that are running on your computer.
4. Execute the downloaded "MaciX500ScanSnapManualsV20L40WW.dmg" file to start the update installation.
5. Execute "MaciX500ScanSnapManualsV20L40WW.pkg" that is deployed from the .dmg file to start the update installation.
6. Follow the instructions from the Installation Wizard to complete the installation. Select [Open] when the message "xxxxx is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?" appears during installation.

How to check whether the update is successfully applied

1. Open Basic Operation Guide.
2. Check the manual code on the up-right corner of the first page is equal to the code listed in the following table:
