[ScanSnap setting] Screen

You can configure the information required for connecting a computer or mobile device to the ScanSnap via wireless LAN.

This window consists of the following:

Scanner name

Enter a name for your ScanSnap.

Specify the name within 64 characters.

Alphanumeric characters and "-" can be used.

Password

This is for iX500 or iX100.

Specify a password when connecting to the ScanSnap.

Specify the password within 16 characters.

The following characters can be used for the password.

  • Alphanumeric characters

    A to Z, a to z, 0 to 9

  • Symbols

    ! " # $ % & ' ( ) * + , - . / : ; < = > ? @ [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~

Confirm password

This is for iX500 or iX100.

Enter the password again to confirm the password you entered in [Password].

[Show password] checkbox

This is for iX500 or iX100.

Select this checkbox to show the actual characters entered in [Password] and [Confirm password].

To show the password in symbols, clear this checkbox.

Port number for startup notice

Set the port number that is used to notify ScanSnap Home for Windows/Mac or ScanSnap Manager that the ScanSnap has been turned on.

Enter a number between 53220 and 65535. The default value is 53220.

Notifying ScanSnap Home for Windows/Mac or ScanSnap Manager that the ScanSnap has been turned on reduces the time required for detecting if the ScanSnap is ready for scanning.

To change the setting, use the same port number as the one set in ScanSnap Home for Windows/Mac or ScanSnap Manager.

[Continue] button

This button appears for the Wireless Network Setup Wizard. It proceeds to the next window while enabling the settings that you have configured.

[Discontinue] button

This button appears when using the Wireless Network Setup Wizard for iX1600, iX1500, iX1300, or iX500. It discontinues the setup while enabling the settings that you have configured up to this point.

A confirmation window appears.

[Set] button

This button appears when using the Wireless Setup Tool. Configures the information required for connecting to the ScanSnap.

[Cancel] button

This button appears when using the Wireless Setup Tool. The settings will be canceled.

A confirmation window appears.
