Placing a Book

Place a book or magazine for the ScanSnap without having to pull each page out.

Place the Background Pad on the front side of the ScanSnap.
Place a document for the ScanSnap.
Place a book as follows:
- Open a book horizontally.
- Align the center of the opened book face-up with the centering mark.
- Hold the book down with fingers within the appropriate areas .
  
  When holding the book down, use your fingers as follows:
  - Keep your fingers straight.
  - When using multiple fingers to hold down the book, keep fingers apart by at least 2 cm (0.79 in.).
- Documents That Can Be Scanned with the ScanSnap

TIP

If you want to scan multiple pages of a book continuously, use the page turning detection, which automatically starts a scan when a page is turned, so you do not have to press the [Scan] button every time you turn a page.

To use the page turning detection, modify the profile settings in the following procedure:
1. Display the scan window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.
  - To Display the Scan Window
2. Click the [Edit profiles] button to display the [Edit profiles] window.
3. Modify the settings for a profile in the [Edit profiles] window.
  
  Select a profile that you use when scanning a document from the profile list.
  
  Click the [Option] button for [Feed] to display the [Feed option] window.
  
  Select [Automatic detection (Maximum)] for [Document size].
  
  Select the [Configure settings for starting the next scan] checkbox, then select [Page turning detection mode] for [Condition].
4. Close the [Feed option] window by clicking the [OK] button.
5. Click the [Save] button in the [Edit profiles] window.
