Import Units of Documents That are Scanned with the ScanSnap

When you import content data records to ScanSnap Home by scanning documents, the import unit varies in accordance with each document type, regardless of the file format (PDF, JPEG).

The import units of content data records for each document type are as follows.

Document type

Imports multiple batches of documents that were scanned continuously, as a single content data record.

Business Cards

  • Duplex scanning

    Imports the front and back sides of a business card that were scanned continuously, as a single content data record.

  • Simplex scanning

    Imports only the front side as a content data record. Imports the front side image of each business card as a content data record when business cards are scanned continuously.

Imports one side of a business card as a single content data record.

Imports one side of a business card as a single content data record.

Receipts

  • Duplex scanning

    Imports the front and back sides of a receipt that were scanned continuously, as a single content data record.

  • Simplex scanning

    Imports only the front side as a content data record. Imports the front side image of each receipt as a content data record when receipts are scanned continuously.

Imports one side of a receipt as a single content data record.

Photos

  • Duplex scanning

    Imports the front and back sides of a photo that you scanned as separate content data records.

  • Simplex scanning

    Imports only the front side as a content data record. Imports the front side image of each photo as a content data record when photos are scanned continuously.

Imports one side of a photo as a single content data record.

HINT
  • When you create a single content data record from the scanned images of the front side and back side of a double-sided business card, insert the back-side image to the front-side image in ScanSnap Home Viewer.

  • When you scan a double-sided business card, you can create a single image that contains the back-side image and the front-side image of the card by inserting the back-side image to the front-side image in the ScanSnap Home viewer.
