Display screen handling

Q1 Can I edit just one side of a page?
A1 Yes you can. You can copy or delete one side of a page (sheet).
Right-click on the page that you wish to copy, then select [Copy] - [Page (to Clipboard)] to copy the page onto a blank page.
Similarly, you can make one page blank by selecting [Delete] - [Page] and then [Insert] - [Blank Page] in the right-click menu.
Q2 When I imported a file, one side of the page turned out blank. How do I delete the blank page?
A2 Right-click on the page and select [Delete] to remove blank pages.
For V5.0L50 or later, right-click on the sheet to be deleted, and select [Delete Front Page x-xx] or [Delete Back Page x-xx] to remove multiple sheets.
Q3 Can I save and print individual pages?
A3 You can print individual pages by specifying an individual page or a series of consecutive pages (e.g. from page 18 to 21).
However, since Rack2-Filer saves images as documents (Save as...), not individual pages, you cannot save individual pages in Rack2-Filer.
Q4 Can I insert an index even when the binder is empty?
A4 Yes, version 4 or later of Rack2-Filer permits you to insert an index into an empty binder.
Q5 Can I use Acrobat® Reader® etc. to view PDF binders which have been saved in a local hard drive? Also, I was wondering whether or not I could perform OCR on these PDF files.
A5 You can browse those files with PDF software. Whether or not you can perfom OCR on these files depends on the resolution of the saved images.
Q6 I scanned and filed an A3 document in 2-Page Mode. How can I remove the binder rings that are displayed in the centre?
A6 Click the [Settings] button in Rack2-Viewer and disable the "Show binder rings" in [Window Mode], which appears under the [General] tab
Q7 Can I attach files that I organised in Rack2-Filer to E-mail?
A7 Yes, you can send pages that you selected from a binder as E-mail attachments (Right-click and select [Print/Mail/Export] - [Send As E-mail]).
Q8 Can I use my usual E-mail application to send files as E-mail attachments?
A8 Yes you can. Go to [Send As E-mail] (right-click and select [Print/Mail/Export]) in the [Send As E-mail] dialog box, then specify your E-mail application in the [E-mailer Selection] dialog box. Rack2-Filer automatically runs the specified E-mail application when sending files as E-mail attachments.
Q9 What is the difference between the "File" button and the "Import" button when generating files?
A9 The "File" button is used to import electronic data from functions such as Word or Excel into binders. On the other hand, the "Import" function is used to import PDF data into a cabnet (into a binder unit).
Q10 Can I view data which was imported using Rack2-Filer on a PC without having Rack2-Viewer installed?
A10 Yes you can, if you use the export function. The export function enables you to export files in an Acrobat® Reader® supported format or you can view this data with Viewer.
Q11 Why can't I modify the original documents?
A11 You need to import the source files when importing the files if you want to modify the files. If the files are imported correctly, icons of the associated applications are displayed in the bottom left corner. Check [Viewer Settings] if "Retain source files by..." has been enabled.
Q12 I cannot move pages when they are displayed in thumbnails.
A12 Rack2-Filer does not enable you to move pages within their source files when you right-click an index to display the data in a thumbnail and you have changed the page order by using drag & drop.
Q13 Why does it take so long to flip pages (about 5-10 seconds per page)?
A13 You can speed up page flipping speeds by disabling "Allow automatic image rotation" in ScanSnap Manager settings prior to scanning.

(Note)
Changing ScanSnap settings is the only way of speeding up page flipping speeds.
<Precautions for using Rack2-Filer with ScanSnap>
(Note)
Performance may be reduced when importing PDFs into Rack2-Viewer. (This includes PDFs created by ScanSnap scanners in best mode from landscape data (binary) as well as images created when the read mode's "Allow automatic image rotation" option has been enabled.) When Rack2-Filer performance is reduced due to this issue, disable "Allow automatic image rotation" and rescan the document with ScanSnap.
