The ScanSnap S500’s concept of “simplicity”, “speed” and “compactness” receives a raving review
ScanSnap S500, the Fujitsu compact duplex color scanner that has been on sale since May 2006, has been awarded the "Good Design Award 2006" by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization.
The history of the "Good Design Award" can be traced back to 1957, to when it appeared as the "Good Design Selection System" (G-mark System) under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. In 1998, control of Japan’s only comprehensive design evaluation and commendation system was passed on to the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization. Today, the Good Design Award recognizes products that meet current cultural trends and lifestyles, while opening up new areas of business.
