   The fi-6800 features a new compact design for optimum usability and minimum ecological impact. The result is an eco-friendly and "people-friendly", high performance document imaging scanner that is the smallest and lightest in its class (53% smaller and 73% lighter than its predecessor).

     The fi-6800 has been designed with usability in mind. The device's ergonomic, low profile architecture allows the user easy, comfortable scanner operation - even while seated. Brilliantly engineered, its new compact design features a class first^(Note2) aspheric lens and an extra-bright LED light source, all housed in a light resin frame. Scanner status, settings and pre-defined scan routines can even be checked and carried out from its easy to navigate LCD panel bringing added usability and convenience to the user.

     The fi-6800 is a revolutionary green IT product, raising the bar on energy and environment conservation while facilitating the business workflow of the consumer. Constructed out of minimum lightweight materials, the imaging device's small size and weight significantly reduces its impact on the environment from delivery to disposal. The recovery time from its extra-bright LED light source is less than six seconds, and it consumes less than 4W (34% less than its predecessor) when in sleep mode meaning that energy demands are kept as low as possible. The fi-6800 has been given further accreditation as a "Super Green Product"^(Note4) by Fujitsu Limited, indicating that, more than other green products of the Fujitsu group, it meets the highest standards for environmental consideration.

   The fi-6800's new compact design puts out amazingly fast scan rates of up to 130 ppm (260 ipm) for A4/portrait/color at both 200 and 300 dpi, making it the fastest imaging scanner in its class.      With ScandAll PRO's advanced Automatic Sorting function, even image data sorting and saving are completely automated. Operators are offered the flexibility of utilizing specialized sorting sheets or barcode printed sheets to facilitate clean and reliable sorting of document image data and reduce pre-scan paper handling time.
   • Reducing the hassle of post-scan tasks with "Automatic Stacker" and "Automatic Image Quality Checker"
     Automatic Stacker ensures all your scanned documents are stacked neat and tidy while Auto Image Quality Checker identifies any image irregularities such as folds and tears in the scanned document.      PFU took the highly praised paper feeding mechanism of its top-of-the-line fi-5900C model and evolved it for the fi-6800.
