Adobe® Acrobat®

Fujitsu bundles "Adobe® Acrobat®" into select models of its ScanSnap line-up.

Outline

Adobe® Acrobat® enables users to create and edit Portable Document Format (PDF) files and it is the de-facto worldwide standard format for electronic documents. Various functions can be added to the PDF files created with our scanners including an electronic form function, database linkage function, security / electronic signature function and a document sharing function.

Solution

Government organizations and worldwide businesses are already using PDF files to improve the efficiency of their document management, increase productivity and reduce paper document usage. For example, PDF files have become the standard format for electronically filing applications for new drug approvals with the US Food and Drug Administration as well as lawsuits with the US federal Court. The U.K. and German governments are using PDF files to exchange digitized documents. Furthermore, PDF/X standards have been approved by the International Standards Organization (ISO) which make PDF files the standard file format for electronically distributing advertisements for publishing and printing.

Fujitsu promotes the digitization of paper documents into PDF files and encourages the creation of an environment where these documents can be processed and edited as electronic documents which are shared and used over networks.
