Updating the Firmware in ScanSnap Home

Update the ScanSnap firmware to add new features or improve features and operational performance.

When a newer version of firmware is released, you will receive a notification from ScanSnap Home.

To update the firmware, you need to have access to the Internet.

To update the firmware, you will need the following:

  • Computer on which ScanSnap Home is installed

  • Internet access

Checking the latest information on the firmware in advance allows you to decide whether or not the firmware needs to be updated.

ATTENTION
  • Do not perform the following operations while updating the firmware. Otherwise, the firmware data may be corrupted.

    • Turning off the ScanSnap

    • Disconnecting the ScanSnap from the Internet by turning off the wireless access point or changing the settings

  1. Tap Hamburger Menu [Scanner] in ScanSnap Home to display the [Scanner] screen.
  2. In [List of the ScanSnap units that have been connected], check whether the message "New firmware has been released" is displayed for the ScanSnap that you are using.

    If no message is displayed, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

  3. Tap the ScanSnap that you are using to display [Scanner information].
  4. Tap [Firmware version] and follow the instructions on the screen.
  5. Connect the ScanSnap and computer via USB cable.
  6. Update the ScanSnap firmware in ScanSnap Home for Windows/Mac.
