A Message Is Displayed, Indicating That This Product Is Already Installed on Your Computer

When you install ScanSnap Home, if a message is displayed, indicating that this product is already installed on your computer, check the following:

Is ScanSnap Home already installed on your computer?

If ScanSnap Home is already installed on your computer, check whether it can run properly.

If ScanSnap Home is not installed on your computer or if you are not able to start up ScanSnap Home normally, uninstall ScanSnap Home and then install ScanSnap Home again in the following procedure.

  1. Use the uninstall tool (SSHomeClean.exe) to uninstall ScanSnap Home manually.

    For details on how to use the uninstall tool, run a search for "SSHomeClean.exe" in ScanSnap FAQ, click the appropriate link that is listed in the search results, and refer to the webpage.

    Before you run the uninstall tool, read "Installation Information Cleanup Guide for ScanSnap Home" that is on the displayed webpage.

  2. If security software is running on your computer, stop it temporarily.

    After the installation of ScanSnap Home, restart the security software immediately.

    For details about how to temporarily stop and restart the security software, refer to the manual of the security software that you are using.

    ATTENTION
    • While the security software is stopped, do not perform any operations other than the installation of ScanSnap Home, such as the registration of a ScanSnap account.

  3. Install ScanSnap Home.
