When a multifeed occurs, one of the following error codes is displayed on the LCD of the operator panel.

When a multifeed error occurs, remove the document by referring to "Paper Jam".
If multifeeds occur frequently, check the following points and take measures accordingly.
| Do the documents meet the paper requirements? | No
|
Use documents that meet the paper requirements described in "Documents for Scanning". |
| If multifeed detection is enabled, does the document meet the conditions for an accurate multifeed detection? | No
|
Fulfill the conditions described in "Conditions Required for Accurate Multifeed Detection". |
| Did you scan a thick document such as a plastic card? | Yes
|
You can scan such a document by disabling multifeed detection. |
| Did you fan the documents before loading them? | No
|
Fan the documents by referring to "Fanning Documents". If the problem persists, load the documents by referring to "Aligning Documents". |
| Have the documents just been printed out on a copy machine or a laser printer? | Yes
|
Fan the documents a few times by referring to "Fanning Documents", to eliminate static electricity. |
| Are the brake roller and pick roller installed correctly? | No
|
Install the brake roller and pick rollercorrectly. |
| Are the brake roller and pick roller dirty? | No
|
Clean the brake rollerand pick roller. |
| Are the brake roller and pick roller worn out? | Yes
|
Replace the brake roller and pick rollercorrectly. |
| Are you using the scanner at an altitude of 2,000 m or higher? | Yes
|
Set [High Altitude Mode] to [Enable] under [Device Setting 2] in the Software Operation Panel.
If the scanner is being used on level ground lower than 2,000 m with the high altitude mode set to [Enable], multifeeds may not be detected. |
