Converting Content Data Records into Searchable Ones
If you did not perform text recognition and document scanning at the same time or if you changed the language settings for text recognition, you can perform text recognition again to convert content data records to searchable ones with ScanSnap Home.
Of the documents you scanned with the ScanSnap, those with the document type set to [Documents], [Business Cards], or [Receipts] can be converted to searchable content data records.
However, content data records in PDF file format cannot be converted to searchable ones if the following settings are configured in the PDF files.

- Display the Scan Window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.

Select [Open ScanSnap Home] in the menu that appears when you click
at the top of the scan window to display the Main Window.
- In the content data record list view, select a content data record that you want to convert into searchable one.
You can select multiple content data records with the same document type, and convert them to searchable ones all at once.

Select [Convert to searchable content data record] in the menu that appears when you right-click the selected content data record to display the [ScanSnap Home - Convert to searchable content data record] window.

Specify a language for text recognition.
For a content data record with the document type set to [Documents] and the file format set to PDF, the [Embed text information in a PDF file] checkbox is displayed.
Select the checkbox if you want to make the character strings in PDF files searchable with applications other than ScanSnap Home.
- Click the [Yes] button.
Text recognition is performed on text that is on an image, the content data record of the image becomes searchable in ScanSnap Home, and then the results of the text recognition are applied to the content information.
- Display the Scan Window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.
