Importing or Exporting a Profile
A profile that you use when scanning a document with the ScanSnap can be imported or exported.
You can export a profile then pass it on to a colleague or family or you can import a profile that is being used with another computer or the ScanSnap units.
However, you cannot import a profile if the profile is created on a computer whose operating system is different from the operating system of a computer on which you want to use the profile.
Windows
- Display the Scan Window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.

From the menu that appears when you click
at the top of the scan window, select [Import/Export profiles] to display the [Import/Export] window.

Import or export a profile by performing one of the following:
If you import profiles that are linked with a cloud service by using ScanSnap Cloud, import the profiles by referring to the following procedure for "When importing a profile in another ScanSnap to the ScanSnap that is currently in use".
- When importing a profile in another ScanSnap to the ScanSnap that is currently in use

Select [Convert profiles in another scanner to the scanner that is currently in use] and click the [Next] button to display the [Import] window (Convert profiles in another scanner to the scanner that is currently in use).
For [Source scanner], select the ScanSnap which has the profile that you want to import.
When multiple ScanSnap units are registered in ScanSnap Home, you can switch to the ScanSnap that you want to import a profile from.
Select the checkbox next to the profile that you want to import, and click the [Import] button.
For [Target scanner], the ScanSnap which is selected in the ScanSnap list at the top of the scan window is displayed.
When multiple ScanSnap units are registered in ScanSnap Home, you can switch to the ScanSnap that you want to import a profile from.
When importing the profile is complete, the "Import complete." message is displayed. The imported profile is added at the bottom of the profile list in the scan window.
- When importing a profile that is being used on another computer

Select [Export profiles in the scanner that is currently in use to a file and share them with other scanners or other users] → [Import from a file] and click the [Next] button to display the [Import] window (Import profiles).
Click the [Browse] button to display the [Open] window.
Select a profile that you want to import and click the [Open] button.
In the [Import] window (Import profiles), select the checkbox next to the profile that you want to import, and click the [Import] button.
For [Target scanner], the ScanSnap which is selected in the ScanSnap list at the top of the scan window is displayed.
When multiple ScanSnap units are registered in ScanSnap Home, you can switch to the ScanSnap that you want to import a profile from.
TIPIf the settings for a profile are modified according to the environment of a computer which you imported the profile from, the changes can be checked in the [Import] window. The settings for a profile can be modified in the [Edit profiles] window which appears by clicking the [Open the [Edit profiles] window] button.
When importing the profile is complete, the "Import complete." message is displayed. The imported profile is added at the bottom of the profile list in the scan window.
- When exporting a profile

Select [Export profiles in the scanner that is currently in use to a file and share them with other scanners or other users] → [Export to a file] and click the [Next] button to display the [Export] window (Export profiles).
Select the checkbox next to the profile that you want to export, and click the [Export] button.
For [Scanner], the ScanSnap which is selected in the ScanSnap list at the top of the scan window is displayed.
When multiple ScanSnap units are registered in ScanSnap Home, you can switch to the ScanSnap that you want to export a profile from.
In the [Save as] window, specify a save destination of a profile that you want to export and a file name, and then click the [Save] button.
When exporting a profile is complete, the "Export complete." message is displayed.
macOS
- Display the Scan Window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.

ScanSnap SV600 is the only model whose profile can be imported to the ScanSnap that you are using on your computer.
- When importing a profile in another ScanSnap to the ScanSnap that is currently in use

Select [Export profiles in the scanner that is currently in use to a file and share them with other scanners or other users] → [Import from a file] and click the [Next] button to display the [Import] window (Import profiles).
Click the [Browse] button to display the window for selecting a profile that you want to import.
Select a profile that you want to import and click the [Open] button.
In the [Import] window (Import profiles), select the checkbox next to the profile that you want to import, and click the [Import] button.
For [Target scanner], the ScanSnap which is selected in the ScanSnap list at the top of the scan window is displayed.
TIPIf the settings for a profile are modified depending on the environment of a computer which you imported the profile from, a message is displayed after a profile is imported. You can check the changes by clicking [Check the details].
The settings for a profile can be modified in the [Edit profiles] window when you click the [Close] button.
When importing the profile is complete, the "Import complete." message is displayed. The imported profile is added at the bottom of the profile list in the scan window.
- When exporting a profile

Select [Export profiles in the scanner that is currently in use to a file and share them with other scanners or other users] → [Export to a file] and click the [Next] button to display the [Export] window (Export profiles).
Select the checkbox next to the profile that you want to export, and click the [Export] button.
For [Scanner], the ScanSnap which is selected in the ScanSnap list at the top of the scan window is displayed.
When multiple ScanSnap units are registered in ScanSnap Home, you can switch to the ScanSnap that you want to export a profile from.
In the window for selecting a destination for a profile to be exported, specify a save destination of a profile that you want to export and a file name, and then click the [Save] button.
When exporting a profile is complete, the "Export complete." message is displayed.
