Connecting the ScanSnap and a Computer Directly by a Direct Connection

When you cannot establish a connection to a wireless access point, use a direct connection so that the ScanSnap and a computer are directly connected via Wi-Fi.

When the ScanSnap is connected to a computer via a USB cable, disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
Set the Wi-Fi connect mode for the ScanSnap.
1. Press in the home screen on the touch panel of the ScanSnap to display the [Settings] screen.
2. Press in the home screen on the touch panel of the ScanSnap to display the [Settings] screen.
3. Press [Wireless settings] to display the [Wireless settings] screen.
4. Press to display the [Wi-Fi settings] screen.
5. Press [Connection settings] to display the [Connection settings] screen. Press [Wi-Fi connect mode] to display the [Wi-Fi connect mode] screen.
6. Select [Direct connection].
7. Press twice to display the [Settings] screen.
8. Press twice to display the [Settings] screen.
9. Press twice to display the [Settings] screen.
Connect the ScanSnap and a computer directly by using a direct connection
1. Press [Device connection guide] to display the [Device connection guide] screen.
2. Press to display the [Connecting Devices] screen.
3. Open the window for setting the Wi-Fi function on the computer.
4. Enter the network name (SSID) and security key that are displayed in the [Device connection guide] screen in the window for setting the Wi-Fi function. Enter the network name (SSID) and security key that are displayed in the [Connecting Devices] screen in the window for setting the Wi-Fi function.
  
  The computer and the ScanSnap are connected directly.
  
  Note that if you have never used the ScanSnap with a computer that you are using, perform the following steps.
Add the ScanSnap to ScanSnap Home.
1. Display the Scan Window of ScanSnap Home.
  - To Display the Scan Window
2. Open the list of ScanSnap units at the top of the window and select [Add a ScanSnap] .
3. Follow the instructions on the window that appears to connect the ScanSnap to the computer.
4. When the [ScanSnap Home - Connecting ScanSnap] window (Let's use it!) appears, check the contents and click the [Close] button.

The computer and the ScanSnap are connected directly.
