A "Failed to install ScanSnap Home." Message Is Displayed (Windows)
When you install ScanSnap Home, if a "Failed to install ScanSnap Home." message is displayed, check the following.
Security software may be preventing the ScanSnap Home installation file from running.
Use the offline installer and install ScanSnap Home again in the following procedure.
If more than one security software is installed on the computer, the software may be preventing the ScanSnap Home installation file form running unintentionally. If security software that is not being used is installed, uninstall it.
Download an offline installer.
Click [Offline Installer] from here to download it.
Stop the security software operations.
After the installation of ScanSnap Home, restart the security software immediately.
For details about how to temporarily stop and restart the security software, refer to the manual of the security software that you are using.
ATTENTIONWhile the security software is stopped, do not perform any operations other than the installation of ScanSnap Home, such as the registration of a ScanSnap account.
Start the offline installer to install ScanSnap Home.
Note that, depending on the security software application, the error may not be solved because some of the security software applications may not be able to be stopped completely. In this case, perform the following.
Perform a clean boot on your computer, and install ScanSnap Home
