[Scanning options] Window
The [Scanning options] window appears when you click the [Option] button in the [Scan] tab in the [Detailed settings] window that you can display from the [Add new profile] window or the [Edit profiles] window. You can specify the settings for correcting scanned images.
- [Reduce bleed-through] checkbox

This is available when you clear the [Thicken color images] checkbox in the [Feed option] Window.
Select this checkbox to reduce bleed-through in the image.
- [Brightness (B & W only)] checkbox

This is displayed when one of the following is selected for [Type] in [Managing options] in the [Add new profile] window or [Edit profiles] window.

This is available when you select the following:
Select [PDF (*.pdf)] for [File format] in the [File format] tab.
Select [Automatic] or [B & W] for [Color mode]
Select this checkbox to adjust the brightness of scanned black and white images. Move the slider to adjust the brightness.

This is available when you clear the [Thicken color images] checkbox in the [Feed option] window.
Select this checkbox to emphasize the contrast of the image so that the text on the image stands out.
Select this checkbox to scan the following types of documents in high quality.
Double-sided documents printed in black and white
Documents with printed or handwritten characters

Select this checkbox to automatically correct skewed character strings on the scanned image. Up to ±5 degrees of skew can be corrected.
This function is used to correct documents with many lines of character strings. Clear the checkbox when scanning the following types of documents:
Documents on which pitches between lines or characters are extremely narrow, or characters are overlapped
Documents with many outlined or decorated characters
Documents with many photographs or figures and few characters
Documents with characters on a patterned background
Documents with characters printed in various directions such as drawings
Documents with long diagonal lines
Documents with handwritten characters
ATTENTIONThe above setting is disabled when you use the Carrier Sheet/Photo Carrier Sheet.
