Loading Sheet-like Documents Such As Documents, Business Cards, and Receipts

Place the Background Pad on the front side of the ScanSnap.
Extend the stacker on the ScanSnap. Pull out the extension and the stacker on the ScanSnap. Pull out the extension on the ScanSnap.
To scan multiple documents, fan the documents to prevent the multiple documents from being fed at a time.
Straighten both ends of the documents, then slightly displace the top edges at an angle.
Load the documents in the ScanSnap.
If the thickness of the documents go beyond within the side guides when multiple documents are loaded, scan them continuously in multiple batches.

Make sure that the document is fed into the ScanSnap and is held firmly.

Align the center of the document with the centering mark of the ScanSnap.

Use the Receipt Guide provided with the ScanSnap to efficiently scan documents such as smaller size business cards and receipts that tend to curl easily.

ATTENTION
- Leave enough space at the back of the ScanSnap to allow the document to be completely ejected. Make sure that the area where the document exits the scanner is clear of any obstacles. Otherwise, a paper jam may occur.
Align the side guides with both ends of the documents.

  Otherwise, a paper jam may occur.
  
  If the document support tab is closed, pull it up with your fingers.

Specify the feeding method on the touch panel.

Press the arrow at the bottom of the touch panel to display the scan settings.

In [Feed] that appears when you press the feed icon, modify the settings.

Press the feed mode settings icon on the touch panel and specify the feeding method.

Specify the feeding method on the computer.

TIP

If you want to scan multiple documents continuously, use the timed mode, which automatically starts a scan after a specified time interval passes, so you do not have to press the [Scan] button every time you load a document.

To use the timed mode, modify the profile settings in the following procedure:
1. Display the scan window of ScanSnap Home on the computer.

2. Click the [Edit profiles] button to display the [Edit profiles] window.
3. Modify the settings for a profile in the [Edit profiles] window.
  
  Select a profile that you use when scanning a document from the profile list.
  
  Click the [Option] button for [Feed] to display the [Feed option] window.
  
  Select [Automatic detection (Maximum)] for [Document size].
  
  Select the [Configure settings for starting the next scan] checkbox, then select [Timed interval (Timed mode)] for [Condition].
4. Close the [Feed option] window by clicking the [OK] button.
5. Click the [Save] button in the [Edit profiles] window.
