Performing a Particular Action on Content Data Records Managed in ScanSnap Home by Using an Application Linked with ScanSnap Home

You can perform a particular action on scanned images or content information in content data records that are managed in ScanSnap Home by using an application that is linked with ScanSnap Home.

For example, if you add client applications for Dropbox, Evernote, or other cloud services in ScanSnap Home, you can send images in a content data record to those cloud services. In addition, when the document type of a content data record is [Business Cards], you can send business card data to an application of your choice in a file format such as vCard.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    For details, refer to To Display the Main Window.

  2. Add an application that you want to use in order to perform a particular action, in ScanSnap Home.
    1. Select [Settings] in the menu → [Preferences] to display the preferences window.
    2. Click the [Add or Remove] button in [Application list] in the [Application] tab to display the [Application settings] window.
    3. Click the [Add] button to display the [Application settings] window.
    4. Click the [Browse] button in [Application path] to display the [Select application] window.
    5. Select the executable file (*.exe) for an application to be added and click the [Open] button.
    6. Specify [Display name] for the application to be added.
    7. In [Available file format], set a file format that you want the selected application to run in.
    8. Click the [OK] button to close the [Application settings] window and the [Application settings] window.
    9. Click the [OK] button to close the preferences window.
  3. In the content data record list view, select the content data record that you want to perform an action on by using an application.

    If you perform a particular action on multiple content data records by using an application, select the content data records while holding down the [Ctrl] key or [Shift] key.

  4. From the menu that appears when you right-click the content data record, click [Send to] and select the application that you added in step 2.

The scanned images or content information in the content data record managed in ScanSnap Home are displayed in the application that you added or are imported to the application as data.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon ScanSnap Home Icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

  2. Add an application that you want to use in order to perform a particular action, in ScanSnap Home.
    1. Select [ScanSnap Home] on the menu bar → [Preferences] to display the preferences window.
    2. Click the [Add or Remove] button in [Application list] in the [Application] tab to display the [Application settings] window.
    3. Click the [Add] button to display the [Application settings] window.
    4. Click the [Browse] button in [Application path] to display the [Select application] window.
    5. Select the executable file (*.app) for an application to be added and click the [Open] button.
    6. Specify [Display name] for the application to be added.
    7. In [Available file format], set a file format that you want the selected application to run in.
    8. Click the [OK] button to close the [Application settings] window and the [Application settings] window.
    9. Click Close at the top of the window to close the preferences window.
  3. In the content data record list view, select the content data record that you want to perform an action on by using an application.

    If you perform an action on multiple content data records by using an application, select the content data records while holding down the [command command] key or [Shift] key.

  4. From the menu that appears when you click the content data record while holding down the [control] key on the keyboard, click [Send to] and select the application that you added in step 2.

The scanned images or content information in the content data record managed in ScanSnap Home are displayed in the application that you added or are imported to the application as data.
