Performing Text Recognition on the Characters of a Business Card or a Receipt on an Item-by-Item Basis Again

When the document type of a content data record is "Business Cards" or "Receipts", you can mark a character string with a frame in a scanned image on an item-by-item basis and perform text recognition for each item.

When an item in content information for [Business card information] or [Receipt information] in the content data record view is not correct, mark the corresponding character string with a frame in the image that is displayed in [View] and perform text recognition for the item again.

Items made up of characters in a business card or receipt, which you can perform text recognition on again, are as follows:

  • Department

  • Job title

  • ZIP/Postal code

  • Address

  • Phone number

  • Fax Number

  • Mobile phone

  • E-mail

  • URL

  • Memo

Receipts

  • Vendor

  • Tax

  • Payment method

  • Payment account (*1)

  • Card type

  • Card number

Available when you have previously connected the ScanSnap iX1600 Receipt Edition to your computer.

The character strings that you can perform text recognition on again are the character strings of an image in a content data record created from the document that you scanned with the ScanSnap.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    For details, refer to To Display the Main Window.

  2. In the content data record list view, select a content data record with an image including a character string that you want to perform text recognition on.
  3. In the content data record view, click Text Recognition with a Frame in [View].
  4. By dragging the mouse pointer on the image that is displayed in [View], mark the character strings that you want to perform text recognition on with a red dotted frame.

    To correct the range of a character string that is marked with a frame, drag the mouse pointer on the image to mark the range of the character string that you want to specify with a frame again.

  5. From the displayed list of items for text recognition, select an item that corresponds to the character string that is marked with a frame.

Text recognition is performed on the character string that is marked with a frame in the image and then the value for the corresponding item in content information will be updated with the recognition result.

HINT
  • If the value for the corresponding item in content information will not be updated to the expected value, change the value in content information manually.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon ScanSnap Home Icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

  2. In the content data record list view, select a content data record with an image including a character string that you want to perform text recognition on.
  3. By dragging the mouse pointer on the image that is displayed in [View], mark the character strings that you want to perform text recognition on with a red dotted frame.

    To correct the range of a character string that is marked with a frame, drag the mouse pointer on the image to mark the range of the character string that you want to specify with a frame again.

  4. From the displayed list of items for text recognition, select an item that corresponds to the character string that is marked with a frame.

Text recognition is performed on the character string that is marked with a frame in the image and then the value for the corresponding item in content information will be updated with the recognition result.

HINT
  • If the value for the corresponding item in content information will not be updated to the expected value, change the value in content information manually.
