Connecting the ScanSnap to a Wireless Access Point
Connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point on the touch panel of the ScanSnap.
The operation procedure differs depending on whether the settings of the ScanSnap are complete.
When Settings Icon is displayed on the touch panel of the ScanSnap.
When Settings Icon is not displayed on the touch panel of the ScanSnap.
When
is displayed on the touch panel of the ScanSnap.
When is displayed on the touch panel, the settings of the ScanSnap are complete.
Connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point in the following procedure: If the ScanSnap is already connected to the wireless access point and if you want to connect the scanner to a different wireless access point, you can change the settings in the following procedure.
Press
in the home screen on the touch panel of the ScanSnap to display the [Settings] screen.
Press
to display the [Wi-Fi settings] screen.
Press [Wi-Fi connect mode] to display the [Wi-Fi connect mode] screen.
Select [Access point connection].
Press
to return to the [Wi-Fi settings] screen.
Press
to return to the [Wi-Fi settings] screen.
Press [Access point connection] to display the [Access point connection] screen.
Press [Access point connect settings] to display the [Connection information configuration method] screen.
Connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point.
- By selecting a wireless access point from the list

Select [Select an access point].
Press the [Next] button to display the [Select network] screen.
From the list of displayed wireless access points, select a wireless access point that you want to connect to.
Press the [Next] button to display the [Enter connection information] screen.
Enter the information of the wireless access point that you want to connect to and press the [Next] button.
The items which are displayed in the screen differ depending on the security protocol of the wireless access point.
To perform the authentication with a security key
Press the input field for [Security key] and enter the user name, and then press [OK].
To perform the authentication with a client certificate
Press [Client certificate] and select the certificate to be used.
HINTTo check the details about the certificate, press the [Certificate] button.
To perform the authentication with a user ID and a password
Press the input field and enter a value for [User ID] and [Password] respectively, and then press [OK].
To perform the authentication with an external ID
Press the input field for [External ID], enter the external ID, and press [OK].
Press the [Complete] button in the [Check Connection Results] screen.

- By entering the information of a wireless access point

Select [Configure manually].
Press the [Next] button to display the [Enter connection information] screen.
Enter the information of the wireless access point that you want to connect to and press the [Next] button.
The items which are displayed in the screen differ depending on the security protocol of the wireless access point.
Press the [Complete] button in the [Check Connection Results] screen.

to display the home screen.
- By using the WPS button of a wireless access point

Select [WPS (button)].
Press the [Next] button.
Press the button for the WPS function on the wireless access point.
The wireless access point is ready to be connected from the ScanSnap.

Go back to the touch panel of the ScanSnap, and press the [Next] button in the [WPS (button)] screen within two minutes.
Press the [Complete] button in the [Check Connection Results] screen.

- By using the PIN code of the WPS function of a wireless access point

Select [WPS (PIN)].
Press the [Next] button to display the [WPS (PIN)] screen.
Take a note of the PIN that is displayed in the screen in case you forget it.
Open the window for setting the WPS for the wireless access point in a computer or mobile device, and enter the PIN for the ScanSnap.
The wireless access point is ready to be connected from the ScanSnap.
HINTFor details about the WPS function, refer to the manual of the wireless access point that you want to connect to.
Go back to the touch panel of the ScanSnap, and press the [Next] button in the [WPS (PIN)] screen within two minutes.
Press the [Complete] button in the [Check Connection Results] screen.

The ScanSnap is connected to the wireless access point and is ready to connect with a computer or a mobile device via Wi-Fi.

When is not displayed on the touch panel, configure the settings of the ScanSnap, and then connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point.
Connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point in the following procedure:
Select the display language of the touch panel and the startup mode, and then display the [Device to be used] screen, by following the instructions on the touch panel.
Select a device that is used with the ScanSnap, and press the [Next] button.
The screen that is displayed differs depending on the device that you use.
If you select [Computer] or [Both], the [USB Connection] screen is displayed.
If you select [Mobile device], the [Connection method] screen is displayed.
When the [Connection method] screen is displayed, go to step 4.
Without connecting the scanner and a computer with a USB cable, press the [Next] button to display the [Connection method] screen.
HINTIf you can connect a USB cable to the scanner and a computer, connect them with the USB cable and press the [Next] button.
The ScanSnap and a wireless access point can be easily connected to the same wireless access point by obtaining Wi-Fi information which is set on the computer.
Select [Wi-Fi].
Press the [Next] button to display the [Access point connection] screen.
Press the [Next] button to display the [Connection information configuration method] screen.
Connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point.
