Deleting a Content Data Record/Folder

Delete a content data record or a folder that is managed in ScanSnap Home.

ATTENTION
  • When folders are deleted, all the content data records and folders in the folders are also deleted.

ATTENTION
  • If you delete a content data record or a folder located in a network folder, content data records are not moved to the [Recycle Bin] but are deleted completely.

HINT
  • The following folders cannot be deleted:

    • [PC] folder

    • [ScanSnap Home] folder

  • To delete a local folder or network folder, which is assigned as a folder to be managed in ScanSnap Home, unassign the folder.

    In the menu that appears when you right-click the folder that you want to delete, select [Unassign the folder] to remove the folder from the folder list view.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    For details, refer to To Display the Main Window.

  2. Select a content data record or a folder to be deleted.

    You can select a content data record in the content data record list view, and a folder in the folder list view.

    If you delete multiple content data records, select the content data records while holding down the [Ctrl] key or [Shift] key.

  3. Select [Move to Recycle Bin] or [Delete] in the menu that appears when you right-click the content data record or folder that you selected.
  4. If a confirmation message is displayed, read it then click the [Yes] button.

The selected content data record or folder is deleted from the main window.

HINT
  • To restore or completely delete content data records that were moved to [Recycle Bin], follow the procedure below.

    1. Select the [Recycle Bin] folder in the folder list view.

    2. In the content data record list view, select the content data record to be restored or deleted.

    3. Select [Restore data] or [Delete] in the menu that appears when you right-click the content data record.

ATTENTION
  • If you delete content data records or folders located in a network folder, the content data records are not moved to [Trash] but are deleted completely.

HINT
  • The following folders cannot be deleted:

    • [Mac] folder

    • [ScanSnap Home] folder

  • To delete a local folder or network folder, which is assigned as a folder to be managed in ScanSnap Home, unassign the folder.

    In the menu that appears when you click the folder that you want to delete while pressing the [control] key on the keyboard, select [Unassign the folder] to remove the folder from the folder list view.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon ScanSnap Home Icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

  2. Select a content data record or a folder to be deleted.

    You can select a content data record in the content data record list view, and a folder in the folder list view.

    If you delete multiple content data records, select the content data records while holding down the [command command] key or [Shift] key.

  3. Delete the selected content data record or folder.
    • To delete a content data record

      1. Click the content data record while pressing the [control] key, and select [Move to Trash] or [Delete] from the menu that appears.

      2. If a confirmation message is displayed, read it then click the [Delete] button.

      HINT
      • To restore or completely delete content data records that were moved to [Trash], follow the procedure below.

        1. Select the [Trash] folder in the folder list view.

        2. In the content data record list view, select the content data record to be restored or deleted.

        3. Click the content data record while pressing the [control] key, and select [Restore data] or [Delete] from the menu that appears.

    • To delete a folder

      1. Click the folder while pressing the [control] key, and select [Delete] from the menu that appears.

      2. Read the confirmation message and click the [Delete] button.

The selected content data record or folder is deleted from the main window.
