Setting a User Name and an Icon Color for Your Computer

A user icon, user name, and a color for profile icons that are displayed on the touch panel and in the scan window can be set for each computer on which ScanSnap Home is used. HINT

If a computer that is used by other users who use their accounts to access the ScanSnap is used, each user can set a user name or a color for profile icons for their account.

Windows

Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

Select [Settings] in the menu → [Preferences] to display the preferences window.
In [User setting] on the [Account] tab, you can set the design for a user icon, a user name for your computer, and a color for profile icons that are displayed on the touch panel and in the Scan Window. - User icon
  
  Select the design for an icon in the [Icon selection] window that appears when you click the user icon.
- User name
  
  Enter the user name for your computer (which is displayed on the touch panel and in the scan window) within 30 characters.

- Color
  
  Set a color for a user icon and profile icons.
- [Show a notification message stating that the same user name has already been used] checkbox
  
  Select this checkbox to display a message if a user name that is set in [User name] and a user name of a computer that has been connected with the ScanSnap you are using before are the same.
HINT
- A default user name is set when the ScanSnap is connected with a computer for the first time, in the format "login user name@computer name".
- If a user name contains machine dependent characters, they may become garbled.
Click the [OK] button to close the preferences window.

The color for profile icons displayed in the profile list on the touch panel and in the scan window is changed.

Locations where a user name and user icon are displayed vary depending on the setting for [Display of profiles] in the [Scanner settings] screen that can be displayed after displaying the [Settings] screen on the touch panel.

When [Selected user] is set for [Display of profiles]

In the following cases, a user name and user icon are displayed at the top of the home screen on the touch panel.
- [Access point connection] or [Direct connection] is set for [Wi-Fi connect mode] in [Wi-Fi settings] in the [Settings] screen on the touch panel
- Two or more history records of users that have used computers to connect to the ScanSnap before exist
When [All users] is set for [Display of profiles]

A user name and user icon are displayed on the [Scan] button if a profile icon (which has been selected in the profile list in the home screen on the touch panel and in the scan window) is pressed on the touch panel or clicked in the scan window again.

The color for profile icons displayed in the profile list in the scan window changes.

A user name and user icon are displayed on the [Scan] button if a profile (which has been selected in the profile list) is clicked in the scan window again.

Mac OS

Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.
Select [ScanSnap Home] on the menu bar → [Preferences] to display the preferences window.
