Multifeed

When a multifeed occurs, one of the following error codes is displayed on the LCD of the operator panel.

J2:55 Multifeed detected (Overlap)
J2:56 Multifeed detected (Length)

When a multifeed error occurs, remove the document by referring to "Paper Jam".
If multifeeds occur frequently, check the following points and take measures accordingly.

If the problem persists, write down the error details displayed in the Error Recovery Guide window, and contact your FUJITSU scanner dealer or an authorized FUJITSU scanner service provider.

Do the documents meet the paper requirements?

Solution
Use documents that meet the paper requirements described in "Documents for Scanning".

If multifeed detection is enabled, does the document meet the conditions for an accurate multifeed detection?

Solution
Fulfill the conditions described in "Conditions Required for Accurate Multifeed Detection".
Specify the multifeed detection area if necessary.
For details, refer to the Operator's Guide.

Did you scan a thick document such as a plastic card?

Solution
Apply one of the following settings:
  • Use the the intelligent multifeed function.
  • Disable the multifeed detection setting.
  • Use manual/single mode.

Did you fan the documents before loading them?

Solution
Fan the documents by referring to "Fanning Documents".
If the problem persists, load the documents by referring to "Aligning Documents".

Have the documents just been printed out on a copy machine or a laser printer?

Solution
Fan the documents a few times by referring to "Fanning Documents", to eliminate static electricity.

Are the brake roller and pick roller installed correctly?

Solution
Install the brake roller and pick roller correctly.

Are the brake roller and pick roller dirty?

Solution
Clean the brake roller and pick roller.

Are the brake roller and pick roller worn out?

Solution
Check the sheet counter for the consumables by referring to "Checking the Sheet Counter".
If necessary, replace the brake roller and pick roller.

Are you using the scanner at an altitude of 2,000 m or higher?

Solution
Set [High Altitude Mode] to [Enable] under [Device Setting 2] in the Software Operation Panel.
If the scanner is being used on level ground lower than 2,000 m with [High Altitude Mode] set to [Enable], multifeeds may not be detected.
