Connecting the ScanSnap and a Computer by Using the Wi-Fi Information Which Is Configured on a Computer

To connect the ScanSnap and a computer via Wi-Fi, you need to connect the ScanSnap and the computer to the same wireless access point.

If the computer is connected to a wireless access point, the ScanSnap can be easily connected to the same wireless access point which the computer is connected to, by obtaining the Wi-Fi information which is set on the computer.

After the ScanSnap is connected to the wireless access point, you can use the ScanSnap with the computer.

HINT
  • If you are using the ScanSnap for the first time, refer to Setting Up the ScanSnap for the First Time and set up the ScanSnap.

  1. Connect the ScanSnap and a computer with a USB cable.
  2. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    For details, refer to To Display the Main Window.

  3. Select [Settings] in the menu → [Preferences] to display the preferences window.
  4. Select the ScanSnap that is connected to the computer from the list of ScanSnap units in [Scanner information] that is located in the [Scanner] tab.
    HINT
    • The [Scanner] tab can be displayed from the ScanSnap Home menu which appears when you right-click the ScanSnap Home icon in the notification area of the taskbar.

  5. Click the [Wireless setup] button to start ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.

    If ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool cannot be started up, refer to The ScanSnap and a Computer Cannot Be Connected via a USB Cable and take measures accordingly.

  6. Connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point by using the wireless network setup wizard of ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.

  1. Connect the ScanSnap and a computer with a USB cable.
  2. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon ScanSnap Home Icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

  3. Select [ScanSnap Home] on the menu bar → [Preferences] to display the preferences window.
  4. Select the ScanSnap that is connected to the computer from the list of ScanSnap units in [Scanner information] that is located in the [Scanner] tab.
    HINT
    • The [Scanner] tab can be displayed from the ScanSnap Home menu which appears when you click the ScanSnap Home icon in the menu bar.

  5. Click the [Wireless setup] button to start ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.

    If ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool cannot be started up, refer to The ScanSnap and a Computer Cannot Be Connected via a USB Cable and take measures accordingly.

  6. Connect the ScanSnap to a wireless access point by using the wireless network setup wizard of ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.
