Creating a New Profile (When Using ScanSnap Cloud)

Add a profile that you use when scanning a document with the ScanSnap.

The type of a document to be scanned, the scan settings such as the color mode, and the save destination for scanned images can be specified in a profile.

In this section, create a new profile in which the save destination of a scanned image is set to a cloud service, by using ScanSnap Cloud.

  1. Click the [Scan] button at the top of the Main Window (When Using ScanSnap Cloud) of ScanSnap Home to display the Scan Window.

    If the main window is not already displayed, refer to To Display the Main Window.

  2. Click Add Profiles to display the [Add new profile] Window (When Using ScanSnap Cloud).
  3. Select a template profile from [Cloud services (via ScanSnap Cloud server)] located in the template list. Select [Scan to Cloud] from [Cloud services (via ScanSnap Cloud server)] located in the template list.
    • Scan to Cloud

      This can be used to automatically detect a type of image ("Documents", "Business Cards", "Receipts" or "Photos") created from a document that you scan, and sort and save the scanned images to a cloud service that you specified for each document type.

      Select this when you want to create a profile that scans all documents in one go without thinking about which type of document to select every time.

      Only one profile per ScanSnap account can be created by selecting [Scan to Cloud].

    • Template profile other than [Scan to Cloud]

      You can specify a cloud service as the save destination for scanned images for each document type out of the four document types ("Documents", "Business Cards", "Receipts", or "Photos").

      Select this when you want to use a created profile depending on the type of a document to be scanned.

    Only one profile per ScanSnap account can be created by selecting [Scan to Cloud].

    From step 4, modify the profile settings if necessary.

  4. In [Profile name], enter a name and a description for the profile to be added, and then select a profile icon.

    If you select a template profile, the profile name, icon, and description are automatically displayed.

    If you did not change the profile name, the profile name is automatically generated according to the changes to [Document type detection] and [Cloud Service].

  5. Select a document type in [Document type detection].
    HINT
    • When [Scan to Cloud] is selected from the template list, the type of document that you scan can be automatically detected by selecting [Automatically detects the document type as "Documents", "Business Cards", "Receipts", or "Photos" and scans the document with the appropriate scan settings]. To detect a document type automatically, scan settings need to be configured for each document type.

    • Selecting [Automatically detects the document type as "Documents", "Business Cards", "Receipts", or "Photos" and scans the document with the appropriate scan settings] in [Document type detection] automatically detects the document type for the scanned documents. To detect a document type automatically, scan settings need to be configured for each document type.

  6. Specify a cloud service in which a scanned image is to be saved.
    • When [Scan to Cloud] is selected from the template list

      In the list that is displayed when you click the [Select] button for [Cloud Service] in [Scan settings], select a cloud service to specify it as a save destination.

    • When a template profile other than [Scan to Cloud] is selected from the template list

      In the list that is displayed when you click the [Select] button for [Cloud Service] in [Managing options], select a cloud service to specify it as a save destination.

    In the list that is displayed when you click the [Select] button for [Cloud Service] in [Scan settings], select a cloud service to specify it as a save destination.

  7. In [Scan settings], configure the color, scanning side, image quality, rotation, file format, and feeding method for documents.

    To configure the settings in detail when saving images in a PDF format (*.pdf), click the [Option] button for [File format].

    The [PDF file option] Window (When Using ScanSnap Cloud) appears.

    To configure the scan settings in detail, click the [Detailed settings] button.

    Displays the [Detailed settings] Window (When Using ScanSnap Cloud).

    To specify the size of documents to be scanned, click the [Option] button for [Feed].

    To specify the size of documents to be scanned, click the [Option] button for [ADF] or [Manual Feeder] in [Feed mode setting].

    Displays the [Feed option] Window (When Using ScanSnap Cloud).

  8. Click the [Add] button.

The new profile is added at the bottom of the profile list in the scan window.

The new profile is added to the profile list that is displayed when you click Cloud in the scan window.

HINT
  • If a profile icon which is added to the profile list in the scan window is not shown properly in the profile list on the touch panel of the ScanSnap, update the firmware.

  • A profile which uses ScanSnap Cloud to save a scanned image in a cloud service may not be displayed in the profile list on the touch panel depending on the setting that has been selected for the method for displaying profiles.

    For details, refer to Changing Users in order to Display the User's Own Profiles.

  1. Click the [Scan] button at the top of the Main Window (When Using ScanSnap Cloud) of ScanSnap Home to display the Scan Window.

    If the main window is not already displayed, click the [ScanSnap Home] icon ScanSnap Home Icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

  2. Click Add Profiles to display the [Add new profile] Window (When Using ScanSnap Cloud).
  3. Select a template profile from [Cloud services (via ScanSnap Cloud server)] located in the template list. Select [Scan to Cloud] from [Cloud services (via ScanSnap Cloud server)] located in the template list.

HINT
  • If a profile icon which is added to the profile list in the scan window is not shown properly in the profile list on the touch panel of the ScanSnap, update the firmware.
